Have u noticed we so many times blame ourselves for things we dont know howto do or we didnt do good enough :?:
We spend more times admiring other peoples gifts and wondering why we cant perform as good....
...do we notice that denigrating comments of people about what we didnt do right affect us so much :?:

...Here is my news for you...you need to realize that the whole world is so diversified that you are too important to be common...so its not a crime if you dont know howto do...or enjoy doing even the common things people expect you to!
The simplest way out is to Strengthen Your Strength!
We are moving into a global professional/career competition in which someone in China can be competing with you in Kwara state...on a job in your local area. And you know that nobody ask you in an interview of what cant you do...they ask you for what can you do! :?:
The point is that the things people in this world can do is infinity...no one can list it...and you are not suppose to know many of them at all. You are expected to at least know something!
So if all you can say about yourself in an interview of live(not realy job interview now) is that thing YOU can do...then why not Strengthen Your Strength! so that you can edge out the global competition in the area that you are good at....in the field that you enjoy.

But you know what :?: there is a pre-requisite to being able to strengthen your strength..and the pre-requisite is KNOW YOUR STRENGTH!
so i encourage everyone that if you dont know your strength yet.. pls search for it! when you identify it...then Strengthen Your Strength!

Regards to all :D

How would you react to this quote:

"You cant know everything about something, so try to know something about everything" ?

Its a quote from my high school chemistry teacher, and boy did he know something about everything . . . eh, just about.

Waoooooo! what quote! :D
I totally dis-agree!...

...anyway it might be ok in your High school days, because the new millennium .com bomb never happen then.
But in this new age economy and professionalism where everybody has 1 million and one options apart from you!...so why would they be interested in you?
Its about how sharp you are in that which you said you know!
Even this days now...people search Google first, b4 choosing company names...its all about the fight for uniqueness... :D

I hear you.

But come to think of it, those that lead huge coporations - the BP's, ExxonMobils, Tesco's etc are usually generalist rather than specialists.

Your take?

Solid point...but dont forget that even MD/CEO is an area of focus too, thats why we have business schools.
Its their focus on pushing the business forward that makes them know less technical skills, so that they can know more of their managerial and decision making skills...

In addition....my salient point about someones strength is not about his/her course of study or job description/position.
Its about your person! Its about what you are good at....doing, sometimes what you are good at spans so many professional field.
For example some people are just good at teaching...asin they are just excellent in this act...either teaching Yoruba or teaching Calculus...they are just good at making other people see and understand what is in their head...
...so it doesnt matter the subject again they are just teachers!
Such a person should not jealous his/her weakness in programming, because a teacher is made to talk to people and not to machines! :D

honestly i think so!
because a lot of American companies now have their call centers in India.
Who knows when they would start competing with your people at Celtel call center in Delta.

So the question is how are you different! :?:

X-2-X, hmmmmm not completely true...lets look at the michael Del, richard branson, jack welch etc are specialists in their respective fields. the exceptional thing about them is that they are great leaders:adept at combining men and materials, inspiring their team , making their employees buy into company vision etc this now makes them look like 'super stars'....i stand to be corrected though

Yes ooooooooo nnanna,
the idea of strengthening your strenght is even more important for this our present day generation, where the world is going flat!
People wants to contact you because your are a top-class specialist in something, if you are just an average, then they have access to million other options than U! :D

i like that.
strengthen your strength is a very arguable philosophy.
but its more correct this days that the world is getting highly connected and accessible, you have higher chances of success only when u build more on ur highest pyramid than building up other small small ones.

I would find out if knowledge is spiritual...because i ve been thinking alone and tapping real novel knowldge from .....only God knows!
Now i am beginning to find the academic source for some of my ideas and philosophy. I never knew i was into Psychology :D

This video from the famous Havard Professor of Positive Psychology who teaches on how to be Happy with the largest class of 800 students in Havard. confirms that strengthening your strength is more important than strengthening your weakness!

This video corroborates: arrow:
